Norwegian artist Jan Roald painted his abstract portrait of Dave Grusin in 2000. The technique is watercolor, acrylic, crayon and collage.

The portrait which was part of an international exhibition in Westerlo, Belgium (near Brussels) in 2001, seeks to show the man through the varied colors his music evokes.
